BitStrips Against Humanity.

Today I stop shopping on Target.com

So today I received a call about a stolen credit card from Target… the representative told me she is not sure from where this could have happened as in “it could happen anywhere” when I told her it had to have happened with Target she said she can’t be sure… even tho the card only works at Target.

So I decided to investigate further to see what happened as the credit card representative had no idea.

When I went to Target.com a new email address appeared in the history “sahazhanyie@liv?.com” (you can guess the letter) so it occurred to me that my account may have been compromised after attempting to search for my account via the “forgotten password” it told me that no account existed with that email. I decided for the hell of it to try my password with the email that popped up… and to my dismay it worked.

Someone how someone was able to change MY Target email account without getting an email from Target letting me know that my account has been changed. I understand that things happen… small hacks, keyloggers, public computers etc.. I have no idea how this happened but I am SHOCKED that Target could allow the email/sign in for the account to be changed without sending a confirmation email  they just casually allowed my account to be changed.

After looking at the items apparently a year of Xbox Live was shipped to someones email.. (not mine obviously BUT if Target asked for a confirmation I would have seen this)

and some size 12 skinny jeans… listen… If I could fit in some size 12 womens pants I would be excited apparently Target was like “Woah, this dude is too fat to fit in those… something must be up!”

I suggest shopping at Amazon forever. I am done with Target.com

EDIT: Scary thing is I am off the phone, they kept answering back with “Someone must have known the email and password” I am aware that this may have happened but I explained that I couldn’t thing of another site that doesn’t at least let the user know and they just blew it off with “I will pass this a long”.

I am obviously not blaming Target.com for my password being stolen, these things happen no matter if we use KeyPass or anything.. I am just shocked that someone was able to change my account without even a notification. When I asked Target when my email address was changed they have no knowledge of this… It should be like most sites… if my email gets changed the account can’t be used until it is confirmed…

The thing that blows my mind is if I was an old lady who bought bad eggs I would have been given a giftcard and kept shopping.. BUT my identity getting stolen.. they will pass that a long… be careful buying from Target.
